Pistol Permit Management

Gone are the days when filing the necessary paperwork for a permit, making amendments, or creating pistol permit cards were time-consuming manual processes. With Pistol Permit Management software from IQS, the process is handled electronically and more efficiently.

Issuing a permit

With IQS’s pistol permit management software, the process of issuing a permit is all handled digitally. When a new record is created, the applicant’s photo, signature, and thumbprint are all taken and automatically synthesized into the software.

Creating pistol permit cards

When a permit is issued a permit card is printed on any media, paper or plastic. When any changes occur, a new card is easily printed to replace the old one.

Adding an amendment

When a gun’s status changes, an amendment can be easily made on an individual’s file.

Relevant information is filled in for you, eliminating possible errors from manually copying. For example: in the case of a change of ownership if the person the individual is receiving the gun from is registered in the same county, their information and the information about the pistol is automatically filled in.

After an amendment is made the appropriate paperwork and documents are filled out by the software and printed immediately.

Retrieving information

Permit holders can be easily searched for using any field including first and last name, permit number, address, applied/issue dates, etc. Pistols can be searched for by using the serial number, make, or caliber even if there is only partial information.

Sharing information

Relevant pistol permit information can be shared between the Sheriff’s office and County Clerk’s office, depending on which branch handles which aspects of the process.

Other features

Co-registering- If the County allows co-registering, a pistol can be co-registered at the push of a button with all pistol information shared automatically.

The Pistol Permit Management software is available standalone or as a fully integrated component to the Solution Records Management Suite.
